Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs

The six interdisciplinary programs within CFIS provide over 300 graduate students with a collaborative research experience they might not otherwise have working within a single discipline. Programs are supported by CFIS as interfaculty programs, and provide students and faculty with an extraordinary opportunity to solve complex problems drawing on diverse disciplines.

CFIS was recently given a new mandate and all faculty members with CFIS appointments will be transferring to new faculty homes. The four graduate programs based in former CFIS units are in faculties as of 1 April 2012.  Details of new faculty homes are below.

The Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program is housed in the Faculty of Graduate Studies.  Please review their web site for more information.

We have a very active CFIS Graduate Students' Association (GSA), which organises social, academic and sporting events as well as advocating for students within the College, the Graduate Students' Society and UBC as a whole.  For more information about their activites, and to get involved go here.
